Eep!

Above is the colour version of Shan. However I am still having troubles generating successful maps and so will be concentrating on my level for a while. I am looking into the problem on the pixologic forums and am currently downloading a tutoral that should help me create a new character. It does look as though I am unlikely to be able to use all of the zBrush work I have done so far.

hey, dude. Looking good. Have you tried making the UV textures in Maya? All you have to do is import the obj.file into maya and make it as one mesh (if it already is, then it doen't matter) by Mesh> Combine. Then you go into Create UVs (in the menu)> Automatic Mapping, this is cool cos you dont have to lay any of your tiles out yourself. Then you open up the UV Texture editor and take a snapshop of the UVs by going to Polygons>UV snapshot. You save that out and put into photoshop, that way you can colour and texture in there (I heard that PS CS4 you can texture 3d objects?, but im not sure, which will probabily be not point in me saying all of this if it is lol) I though this was awesome as you can really go mental with what it in there, where as in zbrush its a bit wierd and took me ages to texture and colour stuff. Anyways, (er not sure if you're doing an unreal level, but sounds like it) you can just import the Uvs in normally with the obj of your model and make the uvs as material it works! for some reason. ahh it souns complicated, I hope it works. I kind of found a link of a dude that explains it a lot better than me: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=39867734 (theres like 4 videos texture mesh a-d, they help me a lot for client), good luck and sry for the long comment :)
